  • Police said the seventh suspect was picked up late Saturday and is related to an accused already in custody, taking total arrests to seven.
  • Authorities have recovered about ₹6.29 crore of the ₹7.11 crore stolen and are tracking the remaining cash, with vehicles used in the crime seized.
  • Earlier arrests included constable Annappa Naik, former CMS employee J. Xavier, and fleet in-charge Gopal Prasad, while three others—Naveen, Nelson and Ravi—were caught at a Hyderabad lodge with ₹53 lakh.
  • The gang posed as RBI or tax officials to intercept the CMS van near Ashoka Pillar, avoided phones, switched vehicles and plates, targeted CCTV blind spots, used multiple languages, and moved un-serialised notes.
  • Police are probing delayed reporting, a non-functional GPS and other possible RBI guideline violations by CMS, as Karnataka’s home minister pledged strict action against any complicit personnel.
