Overview
- Shrewsbury Crown Court sentenced Wayne Price, Andrew Baker, Thomas Nutt, Ryan Taylor, Neil Shelvin, Christopher Downes and Dean Rogerson on 15 September.
- Price received nine years, Baker and Nutt four years five months each, Rogerson three years one month, Taylor two years six months, Shelvin one year two months and Downes seven months.
- Prosecutors linked the group to more than 120 thefts or attempts from August 2022 to February 2024 targeting tractors, quad bikes, 4x4s and tools across Shropshire and North Wales, with losses reported in the millions.
- The men pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal, with Baker also admitting handling stolen goods, following joint investigations codenamed Calafat, Broadsheet and Gander.
- Evidence from CCTV, forensics and phone data supported coordinated raids on 20 March 2024 at addresses in Broseley, Cross Houses, Telford and Shrewsbury, and police urged rural residents to engage with Rural Watch and Neighbourhood Matters.
