Overview
- A man in his 20s died after a vehicle struck a pedestrian on the forecourt of the Asda Express/Esso station on Stockton Road around 4.50pm on January 15.
- Seven people are in custody, including three male teenagers and a man in his 50s arrested on suspicion of murder, plus a teenage girl and two women in their 40s held on suspicion of assisting an offender.
- Police are seeking 19-year-old Ashton Anderson, described as about 5ft 10in with a slim build and short brown hair, and ask anyone who sees him to call 101 quoting incident 281 of January 15.
- A large cordon remains for a third day with a blue forensic tent on the forecourt, a smashed shop window, and closures on Stockton Road between the petrol station and The Mallard pub.
