• Seven members of the Mittal family from Dehradun, including three children and their grandparents, were found dead inside a locked car in Panchkula’s Sector 27 on May 27 in a suspected suicide pact.

• Police recovered a two-page suicide note attributing the pact to crushing debts estimated at ₹15–20 crore.
