Overview

• Chenappa Narinal, 35, was ambushed and hacked to death by seven men wielding machetes inside a bakery in Tavaragera town of Koppal district, with police attributing the attack to a long-running property feud.
• Authorities detained seven suspects in the bakery killing, recovered two machetes as evidence and launched manhunts for three additional accused while registering murder and conspiracy charges.
• Deadly road crashes in Banda and Barabanki districts of Uttar Pradesh, Morena in Madhya Pradesh and on the Lucknow–Bahraich highway have left nine people dead and over 40 injured, prompting inquiries into driver fatigue and road safety.
