Overview
- Manchester United have kept Benjamin Sesko at their Carrington training base for further imaging and an individual rehab programme after the shin issue flared up again.
- The forward was ruled out of the pre-international-break Fulham match and withdrew from Slovenia’s squad, with national coach Bostjan Cesar calling the problem an “atypical” injury that needs time to heal.
- It is reported that Sesko did not take part in United’s recent behind-closed-doors friendly, and there is no indication he will be available for the club’s next match against Tottenham.
- Injury specialist Stephen Smith of Kitman Labs warned on Thursday that these recurrent shin problems carry a real risk of returning and said detailed MRI or CT scans may be needed to spot stress fractures or other structural damage.
- If scans point to a persistent structural issue the club may move beyond conservative treatment to targeted interventions or, as a last resort, surgery which would lengthen rehabilitation and change how United manage his minutes long term.
