• Officials will deliver real-time explanations of VAR decisions to the crowd and TV audiences, identifying involved players by name and shirt number, with no fixed review time and an emphasis on clear communication.
• Goalkeepers must release the ball within eight seconds or concede a corner, with referees counting down the final five seconds using hand signals.
• An inadvertent double touch on a penalty results in a retake if a goal is scored or an indirect free kick if the attempt does not go in.
• Verbal dissent toward the referee will be punished with a yellow card, including when it comes from the team captain.
• Games that are interrupted or postponed should be resumed within 24 hours when possible, otherwise on the next available date.
