Serial Killer Arrested in Gujarat Linked to 5 Murders in a Month

Rahul Karamveer Jat, apprehended after a multistate manhunt, is accused of targeting lone passengers on trains across India.

Rahul Karamveer Jat, a 30-year-old from Haryana, was arrested on November 24 at Vapi Railway Station in Gujarat after an extensive manhunt involving six state police units.
Jat is accused of raping and murdering a 19-year-old woman near Udvada railway station in Gujarat on November 14, which led to the investigation uncovering his connection to four other murders.
The accused targeted lone passengers, often in disabled coaches or women's compartments, and committed crimes across Karnataka, West Bengal, Telangana, and Maharashtra within a month.
Police tracked Jat using over 2,000 CCTV cameras, identifying him by his distinctive limp and matching his clothing to evidence found at the Gujarat crime scene.
Jat, a Class 5 dropout with a history of robbery, confessed to the crimes and had been released from Jodhpur Central Jail earlier this year.
