• The September Supplemental Security Income disbursement is being made Friday, Aug. 29, rather than on Sept. 1.
• Social Security retirement, spousal, survivor and disability benefits for September will be paid Sept. 3 for pre‑May 1997 beneficiaries and on Sept. 10, 17 and 24 based on birth dates.
• SSI typically pays on the first of the month, but payments shift to the previous business day when the first falls on a weekend or federal holiday.
• Monthly SSI amounts in 2025 reflect a 2.5% COLA, with maximums of $967 for individuals, $1,450 for couples and $484 for essential caregivers.
• Because of the 2025 calendar, beneficiaries received two SSI checks in August and will again in October and December, with one of those checks covering the following month.
