Separate Motorcycle Crashes Kill Several Riders in Argentina

Regional police and forensic teams are running pericias to collect evidence for prosecutors to determine how the crashes occurred.

Overview

  • A 26-year-old motorcyclist identified as Leonel Z. lost control and died after striking parked and stopped cars in Rosario, authorities and emergency services reported Wednesday.
  • Earlier in Rosario a 33-year-old rider, Luciano Bogini, died after his motorcycle hit a metal structure and a prosecutor ordered seizure of his phone and clothing as part of the inquiry.
  • In Santa Rosa a 69-year-old motorcyclist died after rear-ending a Dicetours bus that was stopped for passenger disembarkation; the bus driver tested negative for alcohol and no passengers were injured.
  • Local police also reported a separate fatal collision in which a motorcyclist struck the rear of a tanker truck and investigators from Policía Vial and Policía Científica are conducting pericias at each scene.
  • Witness accounts in one Rosario crash mentioned a pickup at the scene but investigators have not confirmed other vehicles, and prosecutors continue evidence collection and alcoholemia controls to establish crash mechanics.
