SEP to Bolster State Liaison Networks to Deepen Nueva Escuela Mexicana

After wrapping up more than 700 collaborative actions in June, the ministry will channel resources into local capacity-building next semester to anchor the reform’s humanistic social justice goals.

Overview

  • In June the SEP partnered with state authorities in all 31 entities to carry out 717 substantive actions under its Basic, Media Superior and Superior subsecretaries and liaison offices.
  • These engagements included 229 board meetings of decentralized state bodies, 142 civic events, 94 federal and state authority meetings and 48 interinstitutional thematic encounters.
  • The ministry tracked progress in health and well-being campaigns, anti-addiction efforts like the “El fentanilo te mata” initiative, teacher training programs and scholarship grants such as Benito Juárez and Rita Cetina.
  • Education liaison offices assessed school infrastructure damage from natural phenomena and promoted sports, cultural activities and community-based prevention strategies in regions including Puebla, Chiapas, Sonora and Hidalgo.
  • With its June report finalized, the SEP will prioritize strengthening state liaison networks next semester to embed the humanistic and justice-oriented principles of the Nueva Escuela Mexicana at the local level.
