SEP Pledges MXN 1.77 Billion for Chiapas Upper-Secondary Scholarships in 2025

Investment underpins the Nueva Escuela Mexicana initiative’s campus conversions alongside digital diploma rollout to boost completions and transitions

  • The Secretaría de Educación Pública will allocate MXN 1,771,797,500 next year to the Becas para el Bienestar de Educación Media Superior program in Chiapas, covering 186,505 students.
  • Chiapas is slated for one of 32 secondary-to-bachillerato reconversions and one of 33 bachillerato campus expansions under the Plan Integral del Sistema Nacional de Bachillerato.
  • SEP data show 2,147 students at 13 Conalep campuses in Chiapas completed their 2024–2025 studies with scholarship support for basic needs and school expenses.
  • For the first time, Conalep and other upper-secondary subsystems have issued official digital certificates with QR codes and electronic validation to streamline document reprints and verifications.
  • SEP is coordinating with Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar to expand school infrastructure and deploy technological tools that enhance academic preparation for Chiapas students.
