Overview
- Most basic‑education schools were on a megapuente from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 and are scheduled to resume classes on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
- Veracruz education officials authorized a local extension so 47 indigenous municipalities will not return to class until Wednesday, Nov. 4.
- The SEP calendar lists further November suspensions for students: a three‑day administrative break Nov. 13–15, the Revolution commemoration moved to Monday Nov. 16, and a Consejo Técnico Escolar (CTE) session on Friday Nov. 27.
- Winter vacation for preschool, primary and secondary is set for Dec. 21, 2026–Jan. 6, 2027, and Semana Santa is scheduled for Mar. 22–Apr. 2, 2027, while major public universities publish separate winter breaks that differ from the SEP dates.
- Local implementation varies because state authorities and teacher unions can approve extra suspensions, so families should check with each plantel to plan childcare, work and travel around these official and local breaks.
