SEP Confirms Oct. 2 Classes as Oct. 31 Suspension Creates Long Weekend

Overview

  • October will have 22 effective school days for basic education, with only the Oct. 31 CTE session suspending classes.
  • Students in preschool, primary and secondary must attend on Thursday, Oct. 2, which is not an official day off.
  • The remaining 2025 puentes for basic education are Oct. 31 (CTE), Nov. 14 (grade registration), Nov. 17 (Revolution holiday under the LFT) and Nov. 28 (CTE).
  • The November Revolution holiday will be observed on Monday, Nov. 17, producing a three‑day weekend with the preceding Saturday and Sunday.
  • Winter break runs from Monday, Dec. 22, 2025 through Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, with classes resuming on Monday, Jan. 12, and state authorities may adjust schedules for safety reasons.
