Overview
- The first procession on Oct. 4 left the Monasterio de Las Nazarenas, traversed Av. Tacna, Av. Emancipación, Jr. Chancay and Jr. Conde de Superunda, and completed the loop back to the sanctuary.
- At the noon bell by Cardinal Carlos Castillo, 64 hermandades in Peru and abroad raised their andas simultaneously in a coordinated “levantada mundial.”
- A brief scare during the return occurred when the anda tilted after a mis-timed lift, but carriers quickly stabilized the image and the procession continued.
- Authorities implemented progressive street closures and transit diversions as Essalud deployed mobile posts and ambulances for prehospital care, with live coverage on Nazarenas TV, RPP and Canal HN.
- Next outings are set for Oct. 18, 19, 26 and 28 and Nov. 1, including the Nazareno Móvil’s visit to Callao on Oct. 26, while a planned miners’ protest could affect the Oct. 18 Abancay segment.
