Senior Rajasthan IAS Officer Alok Dies During Cancer Treatment

Leaders across Rajasthan have paid tribute ahead of his Lodhi Road cremation following a prolonged illness.

Overview

  • He passed away at his Delhi residence on June 2 after a month in hospital for cancer treatment.
  • His last rites are planned at Delhi’s Lodhi Road crematorium as officials and colleagues mourn his loss.
  • A 1993 batch IAS officer with a B.Tech in mechanical engineering, he began as SDO in Kota and served as district collector and divisional commissioner across Rajasthan.
  • Between January 2020 and January 2024, he held key posts on central deputation as Member (Administration) at NHAI and Additional Secretary at NDMA.
  • Tributes have poured in from Governor Haribhau Bagde, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, former CMs Ashok Gehlot and Vasundhara Raje, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie and the IAS Association.
