Senior Chennai Police Officer Suspended Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

  • The complaints were filed with Tamil Nadu's Director General of Police, Shankar Jiwal, and referred to an Internal Complaints Committee headed by senior officer Seema Agarwal for investigation.
  • This is the second sexual harassment complaint filed against Kumar in the past month, with the first reported in January 2025 by another constable under his supervision.
  • The Tamil Nadu Home Department confirmed that criminal proceedings will be initiated against Kumar, and his suspension follows preliminary findings by the Internal Complaints Committee.
