Senator's Son Faces Upgraded Homicide Charge in Deputy's Death

Ian Cramer, son of U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer, has had his charges upgraded from manslaughter to homicide in the death of Mercer County Sheriff's Deputy Paul Martin.
The incident occurred during a high-speed chase on December 6, where Cramer allegedly crashed into Martin's patrol vehicle, resulting in the deputy's death.
Alongside the homicide charge, Cramer faces additional charges, including fleeing a police officer, preventing arrest, reckless endangerment, and multiple drug charges.
Cramer's drug charges were added after authorities found methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in a backpack in the vehicle he was driving.
Senator Kevin Cramer has stated that his son suffers from serious mental disorders, which manifest in severe paranoia and hallucinations.
