Senator Hedges Support for 2024 Republican Nominee If Sen. Scott Doesn't Win Party's Bid

Sen. Mike Rounds of South Dakota endorsed Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.
Rounds would not commit to backing the eventual GOP nominee if it isn't Scott.
Rounds cited the possibility of other strong Republican candidates as a reason for hesitating to make such a commitment.
Sen. John Thune, also of South Dakota, has endorsed Scott's presidential bid.
Rounds has criticized former President Trump's false claims about election fraud in 2020 and remarks about the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
