Overview
- The CAE established the working group by instruction signed by chair Renan Calheiros on January 15, taking effect immediately.
- The group is coordinated by Calheiros and includes senators Fernando Farias, Eduardo Braga, Esperidião Amin, Randolfe Rodrigues, Alessandro Vieira, Leila Barros and Damares Alves.
- The panel can request information, propose legislation and file requests to summon authorities with ministerial status.
- Members may conduct institutional visits to the Federal Police, Supreme Court, TCU, Central Bank, PGR and CVM to support the inquiries.
- The group cannot lift banking, tax or telephone secrecy, and its creation follows the second phase of Operation Compliance Zero and recent Central Bank and TCU actions.
