Sen. Pete Ricketts Secures GOP Nomination in Nebraska Special Primary

Ricketts to face Democrat Preston Love Jr. in November to complete Ben Sasse's term until 2026.

Ricketts defeated John Glen Weaver and Mac Stevens in the primary.
He was appointed to the Senate seat in 2022 after Ben Sasse resigned.
Ricketts received significant endorsements despite the state GOP backing Weaver.
This election marks the first time since 1954 both Nebraska Senate seats are up for reelection.
Ricketts plans to run for a full term in 2026.
