Barrasso's endorsement makes him the highest-ranking Senate Republican to back Trump, joining 19 other GOP senators who have publicly declared their support for Trump.
Barrasso's endorsement comes just days ahead of the Iowa caucuses, where Trump remains the frontrunner.
Trump's closest primary opponents, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, have not yet been endorsed by any current Republican senators.
Barrasso, who is up for reelection himself this year in deep-red Wyoming, is viewed by some as one of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's possible successors.
