Both Gomez and Ronstadt share Mexican heritage. Ronstadt, a country, rock 'n' roll and Latin music legend, has won 11 Grammys and has been honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Recording Academy and the Latin Recording Academy.
Ronstadt retired from singing after being diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy, a degenerative disease similar to Parkinson's, which has left her unable to sing.
