Sekisui House Acquires M.D.C. Holdings for $4.9 Billion

- M.D.C. Holdings, founded in 1972, builds homes under the Richmond American Homes brand in California, Florida, Texas and 13 other states.
- The deal is expected to close in the first half of this year, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
- Executive chairman of M.D.C. Holdings, Larry Mizel, who controls 14.8% of M.D.C. shares, is set to receive $725.2 million from the deal.
