Overview

  • Shortly after 2 a.m., a Renault Arkana fled a traffic check in Mouroux after running a red light, prompting a pursuit of roughly 15 kilometers toward Nanteuil-lès-Meaux.
  • As BAC officers moved to intercept on rue Fernand-Collot, the driver mounted the pavement, struck a traffic sign and ran over an officer before escaping.
  • The injured officer sustained cranial trauma, a broken jaw and multiple fractures, was hospitalized in Meaux, and is no longer in life-threatening condition.
  • The Meaux prosecutor opened an investigation for attempted murder of a person holding public authority, assigned to the SIPJ, and the suspect remains at large with the Arkana reportedly rented.
  • On the previous evening, a separate refusal-to-obey pursuit from Lieusaint ended with a crash and the Peugeot 207 driver’s arrest after a forest search, with four people lightly injured.
