Segob Reports Millions Reached in Community Violence‑Prevention Effort

The Interior Ministry presented consolidated results at the President’s “Conferencia del Pueblo” to demonstrate reach in priority municipalities.

Overview

  • The initiative has delivered more than 3,795,000 service attentions to 2,485,866 people in high-incidence municipalities, according to Segob.
  • Through Tianguis del Bienestar, 1,659,782 new basic-need items and 105 tonnes of seized goods were distributed in 21 Oaxaca and Guerrero municipalities to over 55,900 families.
  • The Sí al Desarme program reports 6,420 firearms exchanged—including 1,967 long guns, 3,809 short guns and 644 grenades—and 5,821 toy weapons traded for educational items.
  • Peace Tables and community groups have organized 5,586 “Jornadas por la Paz,” held 315 Peace Fairs, formed 289 Peace Committees, recovered 284 public spaces and built 6,887 meters of Senderos de Paz.
  • Door-to-door teams reached more than 179,700 households, and the next arms buyback module is scheduled for October 14 in Apodaca, Nuevo León.
