Sega Teases New Virtua Fighter Game After Nearly Two Decades

Virtua Fighter 6, developed by Yakuza studio Ryu Ga Gotoku, is set to launch in 2025 with more details coming in a dedicated showcase.

Sega announced a new installment in the Virtua Fighter series, tentatively titled 'New Virtua Fighter Project,' at The Game Awards 2024.
This marks the first mainline entry in the Virtua Fighter franchise since Virtua Fighter 5 debuted in 2006.
The game is being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, known for its work on the Yakuza series, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
A dedicated 'Virtua Fighter Direct' presentation is scheduled for December 13, 2024, to reveal more details about the game and its features.
Virtua Fighter 6 is part of Sega's broader strategy to revive dormant franchises, alongside new projects for Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, and others.
