Sega Announces Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, Launching August 2025

The 2D action platformer revives the iconic franchise with hand-drawn visuals and combo-driven combat.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will release on August 29, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and more, with Switch and physical editions arriving later.
The game is developed by Lizardcube, known for Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap and Streets of Rage 4.
Players will control Joe Musashi across over a dozen stages featuring platforming puzzles and combo-based combat.
A Digital Deluxe edition includes early access, in-game items, a digital art book and soundtrack, and a DLC stage with classic Sega villains planned for early 2026.
This marks the first new Shinobi game in 14 years, alongside plans for a Shinobi movie from the director of Extraction.
