Sedapal Plans Daylong Water Cuts Across Lima Districts

Sedapal says the work will improve storage and distribution, with cistern trucks staged for the most affected areas.

Overview

  • Sedapal announced planned interruptions for Monday that will cut potable water to parts of Ate, Pachacámac, Carabayllo, Puente Piedra and La Molina.
  • Some sectors face outages lasting up to about 12 hours, with sample windows including Ate 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., Carabayllo and Puente Piedra 12:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., and La Molina 1:00 p.m.–11:50 p.m.
  • The utility says the interruptions are for reservoir cleaning and distribution-network repairs and upgrades, and recent work on October 31 and November 1 included reservoir cleaning in Carabayllo and a pipe repair in Villa María del Triunfo.
  • To reduce impact, Sedapal has placed cistern trucks at strategic points and urges residents to store clean water, prioritize essential uses, and follow official Sedapal channels for timing updates.
  • The cuts are part of a multi-day maintenance plan meant to strengthen storage and flow in Lima’s system, but households should prepare for supply gaps and possible short changes to the published schedule.
