Sedapal and Sedapar Begin Scheduled Water Cuts in Lima and Arequipa Through Nov. 29

The suspensions are preventive maintenance intended to protect water quality.

  • Lima faces sector-specific outages on Nov. 24 in Santiago de Surco (5 a.m.–9 p.m., reservoir cleaning), Villa María del Triunfo (8 a.m.–8 p.m., reservoir cleaning), San Miguel (10 a.m.–10 p.m., pipe tie-in), and San Martín de Porres (12 p.m.–8 p.m., reservoir cleaning).
  • Sedapar’s multi-day program in Arequipa runs Nov. 24–29, covering 11 districts with staggered dates that include Punta de Bombón on Nov. 24, La Curva, Cocachacra, El Arenal, Mollendo, Mejía and Matarani on Nov. 26, Socabaya on Nov. 27, and Cayma, Yanahuara, Arequipa and Sachaca on Nov. 28.
  • Matarani and Mollendo will see extended suspensions across three consecutive days from Nov. 26 to Nov. 29.
  • Utilities state the works include cleaning and disinfection of reservoirs, valve maintenance and network tie-ins to improve storage and distribution reliability.
  • Sedapal and Sedapar report deployment of water tank trucks in affected areas and advise residents to store water in advance and monitor official channels for sector-level schedules, with an additional 8-hour cut set for parts of San Martín de Porres on Nov. 26.
