Security Forces Seize 90 Weapons, Explosives in Manipur Valley Operation

- Joint forces based on specific tips conducted simultaneous raids across Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur districts in the early hours of July 26.
- They seized 90 firearms, 728 rounds of ammunition, 21 hand grenades and six improvised explosive devices from concealed caches.
- Recovered arms included AK series rifles, an INSAS light machine gun, self-loading rifles, pistols and other rifles.
- The operation under President’s Rule builds on a campaign to recover more than 6,000 weapons and over 100,000 rounds looted during the May 2023 ethnic violence.
- Earlier this month, security forces recovered 203 weapons in hill districts on July 4 and 86 weapons on July 15 in valley districts during similar joint operations.
