Overview

  • On July 10, a joint CASO in Poonch’s Khanetar Top area yielded two pistols, six grenades, three IEDs, a UBGL, a watch and 24 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
  • Operations have expanded into Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, Doda and Udhampur as security forces hunt an estimated 40–50 terrorists active in multiple groups south of the Pir Panjal range.
  • Drone surveillance, an anti-drone strategy and intensified night patrols are being used to secure high-altitude hideouts and seal infiltration routes.
  • Officials say about 80–85 percent of those militants are Pakistani nationals and that the arms cache forms part of a broader network planning attacks.
  • The Army, CRPF, BSF, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Special Operations Group are collaborating on raids driven by specific intelligence tips.
