Security Forces Dismantle Industrial Meth Lab in Culiacán During Northern Border Operation

All seizures move to prosecutorial review under Operación Frontera Norte.

Overview

  • As part of Operación Frontera Norte between Oct. 31 and Nov. 2, the Army located and inactivated a clandestine lab in Corral Viejo/Las Juntas, Culiacán, securing 4,920 liters and 4,620 kilograms of substances plus six reactors, five condensers, two centrifuges, and 10 LP gas tanks.
  • Patrols near Culiacán and Concordia recovered 1,033 magazines, 645 cartridges, and tactical gear, according to SEDENA.
  • In a separate action in Culiacán, two people—including a minor—were detained with two long guns, two magazines, 35 rounds, and 10,321 fentanyl pills.
  • In Agua Prieta, Sonora, joint forces arrested three suspects and seized 1,070 cocaine doses, 520 methamphetamine doses, 295 marijuana doses, and a vehicle.
  • On the MexicaliTijuana highway in Tecate, troops discovered an abandoned vehicle containing approximately 112 kilograms of cocaine.
