Overview
- Thingbaijam Philip Singh, Lourembam Kumar Meitei, Laishram Haridas and Yumnam Akash Singh were detained on June 21 in separate locations across Imphal East district.
- Authorities said the militants were linked to the proscribed PREPAK (PRO) outfit and arrested during intensified counter-insurgency operations.
- Based on information from the detainees, security forces conducted a search in the Kalika foothills.
- The recovered arsenal included four self-loading rifles with ten magazines, a light machine gun, a modified .303 sniper rifle with two magazines, 82 cartridges, five hand grenades and nine detonators.
- The arrests mark the latest in a series of operations since the imposition of President’s Rule as authorities seek to curb ethnic violence and militant activity in Manipur.
