Section III Misses Championship Finals as Liverpool’s Piorkowski Takes Third in State Diving

Consolation races on Saturday offer Central New York qualifiers a final opportunity to climb the standings.

  • After Friday preliminaries at the Webster Aquatic Center, no Section III swimmers advanced to the top‑10 championship finals.
  • Marcellus sprinter Vivian Pilon reached Class B finals in the 50 freestyle (16th) and 100 freestyle (12th), and New Hartford’s Subeen Park made the Class B 100 breaststroke field (16th).
  • Baldwinsville’s Olivia McManus qualified for the Class B 100 butterfly (17th) and will also race the Class C 50 freestyle (26th).
  • Class C qualifiers include Liverpool’s 200 medley relay (26th), New Hartford’s Ella McCarthy in the 200 freestyle (28th), Jamesville‑DeWitt’s 200 free relay (29th), J‑D’s Thearyn Wales in the 100 back (23rd), and Fayetteville‑Manlius’s Elise Wratney in the 100 breast (21st).
  • Diving concluded Friday with Manhasset’s Victoria Wang winning at 526.30 and Liverpool junior June Piorkowski placing third at 485.15, while Section III divers Kayla McQuaid (11th), Phoebe Bedard (13th) and Molly Murphy (14th) also scored.
