Overview
- With the latest incorporations, Pakistan’s registered companies total 272,918, with Rs20.59 billion in paid-up capital during the period.
- Information Technology and e-commerce led with 2,999 new firms, ahead of trading (1,954), services (1,807) and real estate development and construction (1,393).
- Registrations were concentrated in Punjab (7,476) and Islamabad (3,230), with Sindh at 2,197 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at 1,320, while nearly 30% originated from about 250 other cities and towns.
- Foreign participation included 332 newly registered companies receiving international capital, and 10 foreign companies establishing a place of business in Pakistan.
- Regulatory activity continued with 94 licenses issued across sectors, and the SECP plans an awareness drive to promote the benefits of incorporation.
