Second Woman Charged in Assault of MTA Worker at Brooklyn Subway Station

Both suspects are now in custody facing multiple charges, with arraignments set to begin this week.

Overview

  • Leschea Aldridge was arrested July 22 and charged with attempted assault, theft of services, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
  • Ayizhae Thomas was taken into custody July 15 and faces counts of assault, acting in a manner injurious to a child, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.
  • Station agent Marshalee Reid was treated for facial lacerations and a swollen hand at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center and has been released in stable condition.
  • Surveillance footage showed the two women repeatedly punching and kicking Reid after a fare-evasion dispute at the New Lots No. 3 station, before they fled on foot.
  • NYC Transit President Demetrius Crichlow has called for “maximum justice” as both defendants prepare to appear in Brooklyn criminal court.
