Overview

• Ontario Provincial Police said 16-year-old Calgary resident Ava Sussums died in hospital on Wednesday after being airlifted from the Aug. 14 collision.
• A 17-year-old girl from Windsor-Essex died on the day of the crash, and two other girls, ages 15 and 17, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
• Police report a single personal watercraft towing a tube hit the shoreline breakwall on Lake St. Clair near Couture Beach around 2 p.m., with no other vessels involved.
• Witness Marco Malizia told the Windsor Star he saw the watercraft make a U-turn before striking the metal wall and that he jumped in to help pull the teens to shore.
• The investigation remains active with assistance from the West Region TIME unit, and authorities are seeking witness accounts and video through the Lakeshore OPP.
