Overview

  • Hargrove was flown back from Virginia on June 25 after resisting extradition and was held inside the 45th Precinct before his arraignment.
  • Both Hargrove and 23-year-old Wayne Lucas face attempted murder, robbery, aggravated assault on a police officer and weapons charges over the attack on Officer Chowdhury Nafees.
  • Surveillance footage shows the suspects forcing the off-duty officer to the ground, stomping on his head and stealing his wallet, phone and loaded service weapon.
  • Officer Nafees continues to suffer blurred vision and pain as he recovers from severe head injuries sustained in the assault.
  • PBA President Patrick Hendry condemned the deliberate stomp because Nafees was a police officer and Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark vowed to hold the suspects accountable.
