Second October Social Security Payments Arrive Wednesday for Birthdays 11–20

The disbursement lands under the new electronic-only system as the agency readies its Oct. 24 COLA announcement.

Overview

  • Beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of any month are scheduled to be paid on Wednesday, Oct. 15, per the SSA calendar.
  • The month’s other waves were Oct. 8 for birthdays on the 1st–10th and will be Oct. 22 for birthdays on the 21st–31st.
  • People who began collecting before May 1997 or who also receive SSI are paid on Monday, Nov. 3 under the separate schedule.
  • November SSI payments will be issued early on Friday, Oct. 31 because Nov. 1 falls on a weekend, with maximums reported at up to $967 for individuals, $1,450 for couples, and $484 for an essential person.
  • The SSA told Newsweek it will use the BLS September CPI release to calculate and announce the 2026 cost-of-living adjustment on Oct. 24.
