Second Man Charged in Connection with Daniel Khalife's Prison Escape
Adeel Khan, 30, faces charges for assisting Khalife after his 2023 escape from HMP Wandsworth and for possessing a phone in prison.
- Adeel Khan, from Waltham Forest, London, has been charged with aiding Daniel Khalife following his escape from HMP Wandsworth in September 2023.
- Khalife, a former soldier convicted of spying for Iran, escaped by attaching himself to the underside of a food delivery truck.
- Khan is also accused of possessing a phone while in prison and is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
- Last week, another man, Imran Chowdhury, was charged with providing Khalife £400 to buy clothes and a phone during his time on the run.
- Khalife was found guilty in November 2024 of breaching the Official Secrets and Terrorism Acts, though he was cleared of a bomb hoax charge.
