Second Fatal Hunting Accident in Iowa This Fall: Illinois Man Killed

26-year-old Seth Egelhoff was shot in the face by a member of his hunting party; authorities investigating the incident as a possible accident

Seth Egelhoff, a 26-year-old Illinois man, was fatally shot in the face by a member of his hunting party while waterfowl hunting in the Bays Branch Wildlife Area in Iowa.
The incident was reported around 1 p.m. on Saturday, and despite efforts by emergency medics, Egelhoff died en route to the hospital.
The shooting is currently being investigated by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the Guthrie County Sheriff's Office, and the Iowa State Patrol.
Conservation Officer Jeremy King stated that the shooting appears to be accidental.
This is the second fatal hunting accident in Iowa this fall.
