Second Austin Airport Worker Dies in 2023, Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Tarmac

The second fatal incident at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in 2023 involved an airport employee who was tragically struck by a vehicle on the tarmac.
Details of the collision that occurred on Tuesday have not been released as authorities and emergency services continue their investigation.
The incident did not impact flights and operations at the airport, which previously saw passenger numbers exceeding 2 million per month during the summer season.
Earlier in April of the same year, another employee at the airport, who worked for American Airlines, died after driving a service vehicle that collided with a jet bridge.
