Overview

• Montgomery police arrested Dantavious McGhee, 19, on Oct. 13 and charged him with capital murder, nine counts of first-degree assault, and three counts of second-degree assault.
• McGhee is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Detention Facility, according to police.
• A juvenile male was arrested on Oct. 10 on the same counts, and his identity was withheld under juvenile privacy rules.
• The Oct. 4 shooting near Bibb and Commerce streets killed Shalanda Williams, 43, and Jeremiah Morris, 17, and injured 12 others, seven of whom were under 20 with the youngest 16.
• Investigators say the violence began with a targeted shooting before others in the crowd fired weapons, and they expect additional arrests as the multiagency probe continues with public tips requested through CrimeStoppers, the Secret Witness Line, and MPD.
