Second Annual TheGrio Awards, Celebrating African American Excellence, to Air on CBS on Nov. 25

CBS's airing of the second Annual TheGrio Awards to feature performances from top artists like Boyz II Men, Jennifer Hudson, and Patti LaBelle, and to honor African American icons including Mariah Carey, Don Cheadle, and Misty Copeland.

The second Annual TheGrio Awards, celebrating African American excellence and achievements across various fields, was recorded in Beverly Hills and will air on CBS on Nov. 25 at 8 p.m.
The diverse list of honorees for 2023 includes cultural icons such as Mariah Carey, Don Cheadle, Misty Copeland, and Eddie Murphy, as well as influential figures like Doctor Kizzmekia S Corbett-Helaire, Tamron Hall, Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Al Sharpton, and Denzel Washington.
Among the specific awards, Mariah Carey received the Music Icon Award, Don Cheadle was honored with the Environmental Champion Icon Award, and Misty Copeland was awarded the Trailblazer Icon Award.
The event featured performances from top artists, including Boyz II Men, Jennifer Hudson, Patti LaBelle, Coco Jones, Smokey Robinson and DJ Kiss.
TheGrio Awards, co-produced by Allen Media Group and Backhand Productions, aim to celebrate and amplify African-American excellence and the contributions of iconic individuals from other communities who support them, according to founder, chairman, and CEO of Allen Media Group, Byron Allen.
