Overview

  • SEBI conducted a two-day search at Avadhut Sathe’s trading academy in Karjat on Aug. 20–21, with the operation lasting over 10 hours, NDTV reported.
  • Indian Express said officials seized trading records during the search to evaluate possible violations of securities rules.
  • In an Aug. 22 video, Sathe told students officials visited to verify if advisory services were offered and he insisted his academy does not provide such services.
  • NDTV, citing unnamed sources, reported alleged illegal gains could total Rs 400–500 crore, a figure not confirmed by SEBI.
  • SEBI says it has taken down about 70,000 unregistered finfluencer accounts with platform cooperation and is pursuing enforcement actions including bans and disgorgement, exemplified by its case against Asmita Patel.
