SEBI Moves Sept. 8 Trade Settlement to Sept. 10 in Holiday Adjustment

The regulator revised the calendar because depositories shut for Ganesh Chaturthi.

Overview

  • SEBI announced revised dates for cash, SLBM and derivatives settlements after clearing corporations added settlement holidays.
  • September 8 is a settlement holiday as NSDL and CDSL are closed even though exchanges are open for trading.
  • Derivatives trades executed on September 4, 5 and 8 will be settled on Tuesday, September 9.
  • Cash and SLBM trades from September 4 and 5 will settle on September 9, and trades from September 8 and 9 will settle on Wednesday, September 10.
  • Trades executed on September 8 in the cash market will follow T+2 with delivery and proceeds on September 10, and exchanges have issued circulars adjusting corporate-action ex/cum dates.
