Seattle Storm Trades Kia Nurse and No. 4 Pick to LA Sparks

Seattle Storm trades guard Kia Nurse and the No. 4 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft to the Los Angeles Sparks in exchange for a 2026 first-round pick.
The trade clears up $142,000 from the Storm's upcoming salary cap, providing them with more than $550,000 in cap space, enough to sign two players to max-level contracts.
The Sparks, who went 17-23 last season, now hold the No. 2 and No. 4 selections in the upcoming April draft.
Following the retirement of Sue Bird and the departure of Breanna Stewart via free agency to the New York Liberty, the Storm went 11-29 last season, its worst record since 2015.
Several free agents, including six-time All-Star Skylar Diggins-Smith and longtime Los Angeles forward Nneka Ogwumike, could potentially join the Storm.
