Seattle Bus Crash: One Dead, 12 Injured as Metro Bus Collides with Sedan and Strikes Pedestrian

Bus slammed into pedestrian and building after collision with red sedan; sedan's driver critically injured and under evaluation for impairment while all bus passengers sustain minor injuries.

  • A Seattle Metro Bus collided with a red sedan at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Battery Street, resulting in one fatality and injuring 12 others.
  • After colliding with the sedan, the bus struck a female pedestrian and crashed into a nearby building.
  • The woman hit by the bus was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • The driver of the sedan, a 31-year-old man, was critically injured and extracted from his car by firefighters. He is currently hospitalized and slated to undergo an impairment evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert officer.
  • The bus driver, along with 11 passengers, suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the collision and are in stable condition. Eight of the victims were transported to the hospital.
