Overview

  • The NSW Police Marine Area Command now coordinates a search spanning from Port Stephens to Bass Strait after drift modelling widened the area to roughly 9,200 square nautical miles
  • Detective Chief Inspector Anthony Brazzill said investigators consider the case non-suspicious but fear the diabetic angler may have suffered a medical episode on board
  • Marine Rescue NSW vessels, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s Challenger jet, military aircraft and Surf Life Saving NSW volunteers are patrolling both offshore and aerial sectors
  • Police have released the white eight-metre Arvor cruiser’s registration (AMG403N) and urged anyone spotting the vessel to contact Crime Stoppers
  • Search teams are concentrating efforts on deeper waters near known tuna grounds and plan to maintain round-the-clock operations until new leads emerge
